This Hotel turned me away because I had no credit card. In all fairness I had no money on me but my check was coming in the bank the next morning. Now, I had stayed at the Driftwood Inn a few times before when I had to travel in or out of Deer Lake. They had no problems with me, I always paid cash. No damage nothing done with any of the rooms I stayed in. My info was on their computer they could see if I had stayed there before with no trouble. But all of a sudden new regulations, no credit card, no staying. So they turned me away and on a cold Winter's Night with a 18 month old. Needless to say when my trips into Deer Lake come up again there will be no staying here ever again. If they can look at you and Turn you out on a cold night snowing with a small child this Hotel ain't worth the stay!

This was a quaint little spot, very cozy and exceptionally clean room. Hospitality was wonderful. A must stay if in the area.

I arrived in Deer Lake NL from a 2 day, long trip, in St Johns, the weather wasn't great, and I was tired. Didn't want to do the long drive back to Stephenville. Oh I wasn't alone I had an 18 month old that I am raising., with me. After landing in deer like I went to visit some friends of mine who had lost their dad that morning. So it was getting that time and I thought I should go get a hotel room now.

Smoking rooms are still a thing? Was told the room would be suitable even for someone with allergies (which I don't have), but found the room after several hours hurt my throat. I'm no pansy to fumes either as a mechanic who lives with a cutting torch in one hand and a wrench in the other I still found it over powering. It was also EXTREMELY noisy and difficult to sleep as there was people coming and going by my apparently totally un insulated room well past 3am? Perhaps from the bar down below.

Good place to have a good, quiet sleep before you continue on with your journey.
